Captain’s Meeting
Tournament rules and regulations are subject to change at any time through the completion of the Captain’s Meeting on Thursday, June 6th, 2024. Anglers are responsible for staying current on all rules and regulations through the completion of the tournament itself.
Captain’s Meeting, held on June 6, 2024 (Firefly Distillery, 5-8 pm) is suggested for each registered Angler.
This is an Angler Tournament. All anglers must be paid and registered prior to 9 pm on June 8th, 2024. There will be NO REFUND for ENTRY FEES or any other transactions. This is a fund-raising event and ALL PROCEEDS will be used by the Because Logan Wood Foundation to promote boating safety.
A completed entry includes the registration form, fees, and waiver. Failure to submit all three prior to or at the captain’s meeting will result in rejection of entry and inability to participate.
Fishing Dates & Times
The one fishing day is June 8th, 2024. Fishing starts at 12:01 am Saturday, June 8th, 2024. No lines in water prior to this time.
It is up to the discretion of the registered angler to determine whether his or her craft (if fishing from boat) is seaworthy for existing
sea conditions. Participants are encouraged to keep abreast of any marine or weather warnings.
Tournament VHF channel will be #72.
Eligible Species
Flounder| Spotted Seatrout | Sheepshead | Red Drum
All South Carolina & USCG Laws Apply – All fishing and angling methods must comply with current State and USCG. Safety and Fishing Regulations.

All fish must be caught on the day of the tournament by rod and reel, cane pole, fly rod, or hand line only. Artificial or natural bait may be used. No nets, dynamite or guns, gigging, etc. No rotten or mutilated fish will be weighed. Eligible fish may be caught by land, boat, kayak/paddle board.
Minimum Qualifying Sizes
Red Drum (Red Fish (Spot tail Bass), Red Drum, Channel Bass) 15”-23”. Under the new SC regulations, fish are to be measured using the pinched tail method.
Trout (Spotted Seatrout, Winter Trout) 14” minimum
Flounder (Summer, Gulf, or Southern) 16” minimum
Sheepshead 14” min
It is highly recommended that you measure your fish prior to presenting it for weigh in. The weigh master will conduct the weigh in and make all decisions concerning the legality of the submitted fish.

WEIGH IN
Tournament Weigh Station Locations: Ambrose Home, 2414 Rockland Avenue, Rockville, SC (private residence with limited dock space)
Tournament weigh-in hours are 3 – 5 pm. No fish will be weighed after 5 pm.
Fish to be weighed in may be brought in by boat or vehicle.
WINNINGS
Prizes are awarded solely based on fish weight. In the event of identical weights, the first fish weighed shall be declared the winner.
The Honor System applies throughout the entire tournament.
The Junior Angler must be 14 years old or younger (as of June 3rd, 2023)
The Lady Angler must be female and 15 years old or older (as of June 3rd, 2023). This prize is based on the single heaviest fish weighed.
If there should be a dispute of any kind the decision of the Tournament Committee will be final.

All proceeds will go to the Because Logan Wood Foundation to promote boating safety and responsible stewardship, boating education and training to keep our families and waterways safe.
